On the evening of March 25th, The University of Manchester East Asia Centre teamed up with the Hong Kong Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKJCCI) for a vibrant networking event, bringing together close to 30 attendees. This exciting, first-time collaboration brought our July 2025 Global MBA cohort face-to-face with the Japanese expat business community in Hong Kong, creating a powerful bridge to the broader East Asia business network.
The night went far beyond exchanging business cards; it was a forum for real stories about career acceleration. Students and industry leaders openly shared their career challenges and breakthrough successes, giving our ambitious professionals firsthand insights into navigating cross-cultural leadership and fast-tracking their executive growth.
"Events like this go far beyond casual socializing; they act as a real springboard for our Global MBA talent and the Japanese business community to visualize new possibilities for professional growth, think bigger, and open up actual cross-border opportunities" says Brendan Lai, Strategic Partnerships and Admissions Senior Executive at the East Asia Centre.
Our dynamic community thrives on this caliber of talent, and your involvement is key to keeping it growing. If you know an ambitious colleague or friend in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau, or Greater Bay Area cities looking to accelerate their career through our Global MBA, MSc Financial Management, or MA Educational Leadership in Practice programmes, please refer them to our admissions team.
Referral Reward: Successful referrals will receive an e-voucher worth up to £300* as a token of our appreciation. To learn more about our referral scheme, please click here.
