East Asia Leadership Nexus Series Masterclass: ESG and Sustainable Finance Amidst Globalisation Challenges

How should business leaders adapt ESG strategies amid globalisation challenges?

Business leaders must adapt ESG strategies to shifting regulations, investor expectations and geopolitical risks across global markets. In The University of Manchester East Asia Centre's final instalment of the East Asia Leadership Nexus Series, Professor Ismail Erturk shared generously his insights on this. This was a complimentary masterclass open to the public, as well as to the alumni and students. This event was also in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and their Sustainability Development Committee.

Prof. Ismail Erturk discussed the effects of geopolitical tensions on ESG commitments and dives into strategies for maintaining ESG standards in a volatile environment.

Prof. Ismail Erturk teaches Leading Global Transitions, the first core course for all University of Manchester Global MBA students. This course explores two critical challenges facing contemporary businesses: to redefine the purpose of the firm in the 21st century, transitioning to a stakeholder value-driven model and to redesign business models for a global net zero economy.

The event is in celebration of Alliance Manchester Business School's 60th anniversary and the University of Manchester's third consecutive #1 in the UK, #1 in Europe and #2 in the world for progress towards sustainability goals in the Times University Impact Rankings.
