The University of Manchester East Asia Centre was delighted to host Professor Fiona Devine and Dr. Panos Sousounis on an inspiring cross-border visit to Shenzhen on June 25th.

The action-packed schedule kicked off at the Alumni House at Nansha with a warm welcome from The University of Manchester Guangdong Alumni Association Chairlady Shirley Chen and Mathew Lin, followed by a guided tour of the innovative Shenzhen Talent Park. To wrap up the successful visit, the group had an exclusive dinner at the Minghua Wheel near Shenzhen Bay alongside their core committee members.

It took a lot of careful planning and personal effort to make everything run so smoothly and keep the schedule so rich. Through all their hard work behind the scenes, Shirley and her team really show what the Manchester spirit is all about - staying dedicated to sustainable connection and giving back to our community. A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this day tour so thoughtful and meaningful!
