On 15 October, the University of Manchester East Asia Centre welcomed Professor Ken McPhail, Head of Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), for an evening discussion focused on global credit, risk, compliance, and the modern value ecosystem.
The forum featured an exceptional panel of industry leaders who brought sharp, real-world context to the evening. Mr. Tonny Wong from AICPA and CIMA talked about looking beyond surface-level information and using diverse resources to make informed decisions. Mr. Peter Wong, Secretary & Treasurer of the Institute of Credit and Compliance Management and EVP at Total Credit & Risk Management Group, noted that our operating environment keeps changing, meaning risk and compliance require continuous adaptation. Ms. Jude Hilton, Founder and Managing Director of Cohesion GRC and an AMBS alumna, discussed the realities of sanctions and how shifting geopolitical boundaries demand constant oversight.
During the session, Professor Ken McPhail highlighted a central principle for corporate strategies: integrity. True integrity is about knowing you are doing the right thing at the end of the day.
We would like to thank our facilitator, Mr. Anthony Cheng, for guiding the conversations, as well as Ms. Donna Buckland and Dr. Justin Cheng, Chair and Vice Chair of the AMBS Alumni Association (HK), for supporting the event.
